The Disability and Inclusion Team offers information, advice and practical guidance during your studies. Support is available for students who have mental health difficulties, ongoing medical conditions and specific learning difficulties.

As an institution, we take proactive and pre-emptive measures in ensuring our delivery of the programmes factor students with additional needs. All students who have additional needs will have a Summary of Reasonable Adjustments (SoRA), which will detail individual adjustments needed for students.

Additionally, our module delivery team will incorporate into their module designs a variety of teaching and learning strategies. This is to ensure that all student learning styles are catered for. Learning and teaching strategies are further supported by the Disability and Inclusion team, which collaboratively work with academic staff to promote good practice for inclusive learning.

In accordance with our duties under the Equality Act (2010), we provide reasonable adjustments that meet the needs of disabled students; remove or minimize disadvantages otherwise resulting from the disability, and encourage students to participate in University life and succeed in their studies.

We also can provide special arrangements for lectures and examinations depending on individual requirements. Some students may also eligible for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA), which can be used for equipment and support to help complete the degree. Take a look at the DSA website for more information, or contact us for more information.
