University of Central Lancashire London, a partner of the University of Central Lancashire, is an ambitious, teaching focussed HE provider, primarily aimed at widening participation audience. Based in London’s East India Docks, the university currently delivers courses related to Business, Computing, Health and Social Care, Public Health, Psychology and Mental Health and Wellbeing.

Continued growth in demand for our student-centred courses has led to the opportunity to expand our professional administration team through the addition of a Faculty and Registry Officer.

The Role

The Faculty and Registry Officer provides wide ranging administrative support within the university, including supporting and contributing to the effective delivery of Registry administrative procedures and processes. Working closely with other Faculty and Registry Officers and professional staff, the post holder will ensure that the administrative responsibilities are discharged in full.

To succeed in this role, you must be qualified to degree level or have equivalent professional experience in HE administration. Knowledge and experience of university administration if essential, as is a proficiency in the use of MS Office applications. You will also have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and in all styles, and ability to interact with academics and potential and current students in a way which enhances their experience.

The University will be unable to sponsor candidates for a visa for this role. You must have an existing right to live and work in the United Kingdom without any forms of restriction or caveat as provided under the Immigration Act 1971 as amended.

Position: Associate Lecturer in Computing

Continued growth in demand for our student-centred courses has led to the opportunity to expand our exceptional delivery team through the addition of an associate lecturer, in areas related to Computing.
 
We are looking for an experienced lecturer with a solid grounding and applicable qualifications and experience in computing, particularly in areas related to programming, networks, business intelligence, software development, cyber-security and artificial intelligence. The main duties of the Associate Lecturer include delivery of teaching, learning and assessments across a range of relevant modules, with possible module leading opportunities, subject to availability and expertise; deliver teaching in an engaging manner to support varied learning styles; provide appropriate support, feedback and encouragement to students to ensure an excellent student experience; and to complete assessment and marking activities to a high-quality standard within deadlines.

You should be qualified to a minimum of master's degree level in a relevant discipline, with experience of teaching at undergraduate level in Higher Education and knowledge of contemporary issues within computing-related sectors.  A strong grounding in industry will be an advantage, along with experience in teaching and supporting students from diverse backgrounds. You should have demonstrable organisational and personal management skills, with evidence of your ability to balance competing pressures. You should have effective interpersonal and communication skills that facilitate effective team working and teaching.

You must have an existing right to live and work in the United Kingdom without restriction or caveat. All academic staff are required to teach face-to-face on campus.
