Careers Trimester 1 Treats
September Welcome
What a start we've had to Trimester 1; September Welcome Week delivered a range of Careers support including taster workshops and industry-focused resources across technology, business, computing and healthcare.
Students starting our new undergraduate and postgraduate programmes – BSc (Hons) Business and Data Analytics, BSc (Hons) Cybersecurity with Artificial Intelligence and MSc Public Health and Community and Wellbeing participated in taster Careers workshops identifying their purpose and skills whilst gaining insight into how this could be applied in real-world contexts.
This was a great opportunity to see what our new cohort has to offer and how the Careers service can provide the best support.
Something for Your Calendar
The Careers calendar is packed with several activities and events keeping you informed on what's happening across industries supporting your study interests.
All-day drop-ins catered to Business, Healthcare & Wellbeing and Computing programmes offer a quick chat with relevant resources matching your career interests. Careers clinics will offer informative and interactive sessions researching labour market information and skills. Lunchtime workshops will support those of you with considerable work experience and interested in moving up or out of your current roles. Small group coaching will provide follow-up support from class workshops or any further queries as the end of the trimester approaches. More news coming your way soon…
Employer and Industry Events - October/November 2026
The next two months are a not-to-be-missed opportunity to engage with employers visiting Republic and UCLan London across key industry sectors.
UCLan London will be hosting a hackathon in late October - led by Loveable and other key employers across technology and AI. Attendees participating in the hackathon will experience authentic business projects building software and working collaboratively.
Republic's Careers Fair on Thursday 12 November 2026 offers both pre-fair workshops in October/early November followed by the main event hosting employers from sectors including business, healthcare, tech, marketing. The event runs from 11am to 2pm and provides crucial and direct contact with employers ready to meet and offer opportunities and industry insight.
