King Chi Yau is a registered Clinical Psychologist and Music Therapist, working primarily with children and young people (CYP) and their families within the NHS. His work focuses on supporting the psychological needs of children and young people with complex medical conditions.
He has a particular research interest in the psychological factors associated with fatigue and pain in paediatric inflammatory bowel disease (PIBD). He was recently awarded an NIHR Predoctoral Fellowship to investigate these areas further.
Alongside his clinical and research work, King Chi serves as Assistant Professor (Teaching) and NIHR Senior Research Fellow at University College London (UCL). He also works as a sessional lecturer at UoN and UCLan London.
About the Session
Students on the Mental Health and Wellbeing programme, as well as the Psychology programme, are invited to gain career insights from experts in the field to enhance their understanding of the different ways in which individuals can support others experiencing mental health conditions.
