Dr Cassandra Bell is a Counselling psychologist with specialist expertise in eating disorders and a background in general adult mental health. She offers evidence-based care for a wide range of mental health disorders, tailored to the individual needs of her clients.
She works at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, one of the UK’s leading mental health providers, within specialist eating disorders service. She has extensive experience of delivering individual and group therapy across a range of mental health settings. She previously worked in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), where she conducted assessments for ADHD and autism. In private practice, she offers comprehensive assessment, formulation, and therapy.
About the Session
Students on the Psychology and Mental Health programme had the opportunity to take part in an engaging session with Dr Cassandra Bell, a counselling psychologist. She shared her career journey and gave helpful insights into what it is like to work in the field.
What Students Have Learnt
- Students learned about the different responsibilities, skills, and knowledge needed in counselling psychology.
- They also learned about how to become a psychologist, what education, volunteering and work experience helps to build a career in psychology.
- They also explored a variety of career paths within psychology and gained a better understanding of how their studies can support their future career choices.
