About the University

UCLan London, a partner of the University of Lancashire, is an ambitious, teaching focussed HE provider, primarily aimed at widening participation audience. Based in London’s East India Docks, the university currently delivers courses related to Business, Computing, Health and Social Care, Public Health, Psychology and Mental Health and Wellbeing.

Continued growth in demand for our student-centred courses has led to the opportunity to expand our Director of Studies team through the addition of a Deputy Director of Studies (Academic Support). We are therefore seeking an ambitious, driven and values-led professional with experience in delivering interventions and projects associated with academic support and outcomes.

The Role

The Deputy Director of Studies (Student Engagement) is a critical role at the UCLan London and will form part of the Director of Studies Office. Working closely with the Director of Studies, you will also be required to resolve issues relating to academic misconduct and appeals and work closely with the both internal and external stakeholders. You will be required to deputise for the Director of Studies and represent the university on relevant committees as appropriate.

To succeed in this role, you must be qualified to Masters level and have professional experience in areas relating to student engagement and retention. Knowledge and experience of university administration is essential, as is a proficiency in the use of MS Office applications. You will also have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and in all styles, and ability to interact with academics and potential and current students in a way which enhances their experience.

Marketing Executive

We are seeking to appoint a Marketing Executive to support the continued growth and development of the Marketing and Communications function at UCLan London. The key purpose of the role is to coordinate and deliver student recruitment and engagement activities; create compelling digital and printed marketing content; support the promotion of courses, events and campaigns; and contribute to raising the profile and visibility of UCLan London. You may also be required to support wider marketing, communications and administrative activity across the institution. 

If you are passionate about the power of education and understand the importance of engaging, student-focused communication, we would love to hear from you. This is a full-time, permanent position. 

You will be educated to a minimum of degree level, preferably in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications or a related field. You will be professional, creative and confident in producing written and visual content across a range of digital and print platforms. Previous experience in social media management, content creation, digital marketing campaigns or student recruitment marketing is essential. 

Working hours are generally Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm, with one hour for lunch. From time to time, you may be required to support recruitment events, Open Days or student activities during evenings and weekends, for which time off in lieu will be provided.
